Totally unrelated to Widgets, but if you saw the first Miss Teen South Carolina video, you’re going to lose it watching this one…

“she’s a great public speecher!” ~ too funny

No time for Widgets today, but always time for a good laugh!

I loved this so much, I bought a domain which has developed into an idea.  PublicSpeecher.com. These guys are the real “public speechers”.  You’ll find this video and others as time passes.

I always love the guys at WidgetBox.

No…NOT LIKE YOU"RE THINKIN’…I want to have sex with them!!!

Just kiddin!

But if you are an eBay maniac, you may just find this useful enough to be tempted.

I have not used this service, but would love to have some feedback from anyone who has because I love the idea designed by the masters at WidgetBox.com

=======================

Here’s another eBay Widget from Widgipedia which operates very similar. They say "Activate your Listing Feeds in eBay… and submit it to us and we do the rest!".

I am curious to know what "the rest" is.

On further inspection, I see WidgetBox beat them to the punch by about a month.

Ooooo. The battle is on!!!

Which is best?

And…I did not forget you MAC users. Check out Easy Ebay.

As an added bonus and in the same arena as the ebay widget is this creative gadget made for real estate professionals. You can embed your listings into the gadget for placement on a variety of websites like Facebook, Wordpress, MySpace, Friendster, etc. Useful anyone?

I have a confession.

I wanted to keep this Widget a secret.

At the same time, I can’t wait to tell you about it. ;)

Those of you who operate a blog, and act as affiliates, are really going to love this one.

This sucker makes placing “rotating ads” on your blog a cinch. Whether its Google Adsense code or affiliate tracking code, this mamma jamma solved my problem.

More Info5 easy steps:

1. Upload the plug-in to your blog.
2. Activate the plug in.
3. Drag and drop into your sidebar.
4. Insert your code into the widget.

Now, every time a new visitor comes to your site, a new ad will be displayed.

You will see an example of this puppy in action on my newest blog SaversBlog.com (opens in a new window).

I’m still working on the site as I write this post, so forgive the mess, but look on the bottom right of the blog. You will see ads for coupons. Refresh the page, and you’ll see another coupon ad is being displayed.

Find your rotating ad widget here.

Good lord, I love Web 2.0!

Looking for a Technorati widget?

You’re in luck! They have page dedicated to this very thing.

Check this out! Want to know how often people are talking about you on the web? This is cool and could be a little freaky. Kinda like the blogarazzi. Sister to Papparazzi and stalker of the blogosphere. Ok, not funny, but an awesome widget to waste your time on.

I set this one up to see how often the word “Widget” shows up in the blogosphere.

Posts that contain Widget per day for the last 30 days.
Technorati Chart
Get your own chart!

The next one displays the top blog tags for my website. I assume you’ll be seeing the word “widget” quite often. mmm hmmm!

Widgets-Blog.com top tags

NEXT…This one allows you to put your Technorati favorites into your blog roll. Quite nifty if your best list is at Technorati.

Find a list of Technorati WordPress plugins to integrate Technorati with your blog.

If you are a Technorati desktop widget freak, you’ll find those here.

By the way. At the time of this writing, the top video on Technorati was added just three days ago and has already had over 3.5 million hits. I was rolling on the floor until I remembered I was from South Carolina too. If you’re looking for another good laugh, check out this answer from a question posed to Miss Teen South Carolina. If you watch the video with subtitles, its even funnier.

Its been a crazy day and 1/2. Been fighting off a spam attack and am still trying to get this cleared up.

I needed a laugh and found this on YouTube.

Videos are sorta like widgets. Right? :)

Well…ok, but it’s only 37 seconds out of your day and I think you’ll enjoy anyway.

I have managed to change the theme of the site once more as I become adjusted in operating in the 2.0 world. If you have a blog and have not stepped up to 2.0, you really have no idea what you are missing.

The widgets available for your Wordpress blog can do things it would have taken the average Joe months to figure out!

Not to mention most Widgets are free!

Free I said ;)

I am compiling a list of my top 20 to 25 Widgets for Wordpress which have absolutely blown me away in their abilities to create, optimize, track, and make my life easier in general.

As I uncovered these suckers from all over the Internet, I thought it sure would be nice if they were all located on one page. So, that’s exactly what I am doing….collecting a list of the most used and useful Widgets to make your blog blaze.

I’ll post the entire list once completed, but will start with this little jewel.

If you have a Google Adsense account and run a blog, you should “run” …ok…”click” as fast as possibly can to download it.

If you do not have a Google account yet, crawl out from under your rock and get one.

Blogger.com users have likely heard about the Adsense for blogger which was released late 2006, but I am speaking of the Wordpress Adsense Deluxe

Yes, Adsense Deluxe was released some time ago as well, but so few know where to find it. You simple grab your Adsense code, paste into your “Adsense block”, supply a name, and then start collecting those clicks for cash.

Adsense Deluxe allows you to place ads anywhere you like. In your Wordpress templates, headers, footers, middle of the page….anywhere you want your ads to appear.

Gotta have it!

Please leave feedback if you try it out.

My top picks coming soon!

P.S. You will find similar products people have been using and recommending at Digg.

Do you have an eBay affiliate account?

Wanna make some money with your new eBay widget?

I simply like the idea these guys have come up with.

Here’s the skinny! Their website states you can “embed your eBay PID into this oddball widget, and receive credit for 50% of the clicks from their site.” They are referring to a PID from CJ.com, an affiliate product provider. Bottom line…The genius widget makers are offering to display your ads ID 50% of the time, which means they get 50% display as well. Sounds better than most which offer no compensation at all.

eBay is not one of my favorite programs due to the low commissions, but the “idea” here is what excites me.

Read more about this widget at OddBallWidgets.com

Another site with a similar concept is payperwidget.com . I’ll share more about this later.

I have now added the new contact widget to my blog.

YEP! The contact form is a widget!!!

Sit up straight, take a deep breath, and look at my new contact form widget. I made a post about this yesterday, but didn’t think to add it to my site. Kind of ticked me off because it took a 2 minutes to find my code and have it added here. :)

To make this work, you must have an account with Connectify.com

Test it out and give me a shout!

Are you reading this Eduardo?

Are you reading this Bryan?

Are you reading this Philip?

My three feed readers!

That’s a lotta “e”s

In my next post, I plan to tell you about the next generation of Web 2.0 blog.

Could Wordpress blog be he old school way of building a web site?

There’s a new player on the field of web site creation, and its FREE! I am 99.9% certain this blogger software is going to blow you away. (Did I mention it’s free?)

Man, oh man, oh man!

I was looking for an easy to install contact form this evening when I realized something…. Just about any idiot can build a web page nowadays!

Especially when you have a widget like this contact form widget. (example shown below) BUT WAIT! The downside, though a small one, is that you must open an account with Contactify. Personally, I do not like dealing with unknowns, but after a little research, I felt comfortable enough to create an account. If they stand by their privacy policy ( and I read the whole thing), you do not have anything to worry about.

Once you see the contact form Widget in action, you’ll understand why I am so excited. What used to take a boat load of time to construct in your web page is now available in just a few simple clicks.

The upside is it does not cost anything and the widget itself is hosted on Widgetbox.com servers.

What are your thoughts?

Do you believe subscription widgets have a future?

Have you ever wondered where bloggers get those nifty social bookmarking and RSS news reader icons? You know, the one where users can easily click to add to their favorite newsreader or social bookmarking site like Technorati, Yahoo, Google, NetVibes, Newsgator and others.

When I began searching for the RSS bookmarking widget for newsreaders, I began to think I was going to have to go to each individual site and sign up for an account. Luckily, my persistence paid off and I found this sidebar widget which provides a set of RSS chiclets for visitors of your web site to add YOUR blog to their RSS reader.

I could not believe how easy it was to implement. In fact, I didn’t even know I could do some of the things in the widget editing section in WordPress. Who knew you could could drag and drop widgets right in your admin area of your wordpress blog. Go to “Presentation/widgets” and then you will be able to see your available widgets at the bottom of the page. Drag and drop until you get your side bar the way you want it. It literally takes seconds to implement once you have your Widgets uploaded.

By the way, if you do not have a Reader yet, there are many to choose from, but since I have been using Googles services, I have become accustomed to the Google reader. If you are a Firefox user, you will especially like the Google Reader add-on.

While you’re at it, be sure to add this blog to your reader to make sure it works. ;)

Did I mention I love Widgets?
