Grab your shovel and start digging cuz this baby is sparkling gold!
If you are a blogger and do not yet have the BlogRush Widget, you are losing free traffic. It’s as simple as that. In just 3 short days, and a relatively new blog, I have managed to earn 8,123 credits. Not too shabby and best of all it’s freakin free traffic by simply installing the BlogRush Widget.
BlogRush Widget Tips???
If you have installed already, be sure to read this interesting post regarding ways to create your posts to optimize your BlogRush click thrus. Some really great points and debatable suggestions are made and worthy of discussion.
I’m "all in" for a clean looking blog…but remove my Digg button? Remove my social networking icons? Is it really that big of a deal?
Personally, I would recommend SnowBoardJohn (the poster) add a little jazz to the blog the post was made from so we can see how big a genius he really is. Maybe a social bookmarking icon would add a little color to his blog and make my eyes go mmmmmm, this guy knows what he’s talking about.
I do like most of what he says, and especially the way John posts a link at the bottom of each post which reads If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed!
Soooo. If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed!

Thanks for the tip! Blogrush is awesome, I’m earning tons of credits already!
Quite a bit of controversy today about BlogRush. Some love it! Others hate it! Some were cryin pyramid and others like Michael Martine had plenty to say at http://www.michaelmartine.com/2007/09/20/the-blogrush-is-over/
The Warrior Forum was swarming with questions as well.
My opinion…sit back and wait!
I have received a about 15,000 credits in just a few days, but the click through ratio from the just over 3000 ads which were displayed on other websites registered only 11 clicks.
You do not need a calculator for that one.
I’ll keep my eye on this puppy and report back soon.
Almost 14,000 display credits today alone, but as mentioned, the click thrus are really low. 3,843 ad views and only 8 click thrus.
Click thrus are obviously so low, an official statement was made on the BlogRush affiliate center which reads as follows:
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Click- through rates are very low right now due to problems with some users cheating the system. We are a few days away from removing all abuse from the system and you will see your click-rates increase. We are also moving to a Manual Review Process for all member blogs which will also increase the traffic you receive. Thank you for your patience — we’re working hard to improve this beta version of our service.

Cool blog – I like your topic of widgets.
As far as removing those social media buttons goes – if it’s working for you – sure use them.
But I see THOUSANDS of bloggers who put hundreds of those little buttons at the bottom of their blog posts – for no reason. They aren’t thinking about a specific ACTION they want their reader to take. They just put them there because they look cool, and everyone else does it.
My challenge was intended to get people to reconsider the actions they may be making mindlessly – when they could be designing entrapment systems which would mean more readers would return to their blog.
The RSS subscribe remind function is FAR MORE useful than 5, 10, or 20+ social media buttons ever will be.
And truth be told, the less actionable options you give to someone, the higher the probability of them taking THE ONE action you want them to take.
John Reese faces his critics, admits his faults and makes a BIG announcement change to BlogRush! See the post here. http://www.widgets-blog.com/2007/09/26/big-changes-at-blogrush/
Blog Rush died, if you go there, you’re see the site is down.
Shame, didn’t seem like such a bad idea. From the BlogRush is over article, looks like, the content of the widget was over spammed with junk, so the lack of filtering broke it.
